Morgan State adds Division II HBCU to 2025 football schedule

The Morgan State football nonconference schedule for the 2025 season is now complete.
The Bears will host Central State University, a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference member, on Saturday, Sept. 20.
The matchup will take place at the familiar confines of Hughes Stadium in Baltimore, providing a home-field advantage and a chance to build momentum early in the season.
For Morgan State, it completes a very competitive nonconference slate. The Bears’ competition slate spans different play levels and geographic locations.

From kicking off the season against South Alabama to welcoming Towson for their home opener, the team will be tested early. Beyond the familiar gridiron, the Circle City Classic in Indianapolis against Miles College provides a unique experience. The Bears will then take a road trip to the Nation’s Capital for a challenging matchup against Georgetown. Rounding out the schedule, the Homecoming game against Virginia-Lynchburg offers a chance to celebrate and connect with the Morgan State community before preparing for the rigors of conference play.
The gridiron rivalry between Morgan State and Central State dates back to 1951, with the Marauders currently holding a 13-3 lead in the series.
While Morgan State hasn’t tasted victory against Central State since a 24-21 triumph in 1975, the Marauders extended their winning streak against the Bears to four games with a narrow 18-17 victory in their last encounter in the 1996 Capital City Classic in Columbus, Ohio.
