WWE WRESTLEMANIA 41 LIVE BLOG & MATCH COVERAGE

Higher! Higher! Feel the enthusiasm! She burns at the stake like a witch, but me? I’m just here to liveblog this professional wrestling spectacle for you, folks.

Typically, I don’t cover the details of the pre-show live, but they aired a video segment for a AAA/NXT Worlds Collide in June and then followed it by announcing that WWE acquired AAA *and* used it to segue into Rey Mysterio sharing that he’s not cleared and will be substituted by Rey Fenix in his showdown against El Grande Americano tonight, so there you have it.

Later on, there’s also a bit about Bayley being mysteriously harmed backstage by definitely not Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez and Adam Pearce informing the two of them that they won’t be getting out of a title match tomorrow night so easily.

The main event begins with the customary montage of superstars arriving at the arena.

Next, we receive a video narrated by Triple H discussing heroes and villains along with legendary tales.

Triple H stands in the ring, microphone in hand.

He proclaims it’s his pleasure to welcome us to Las Vegas, where for the first time ever, right here, right now (Van Halen is rocking it in America?), everyone present is being viewed LIVE by the entire planet. He then invites us to WrestleMania and a flurry of pyro is unleashed.

GUNTHER (c) vs. “Main Event” Jey Uso (WWE World Heavyweight Championship)

Circling, taking it slow, soaking in the atmosphere, collar and elbow into the corner, GUNTHER with a right hand but Uso counters with a MONSTROUS right that knocks the Ring General onto his back and forces him to scramble out to the floor! Back inside, trading strikes, Jey gains the upper hand and again GUNTHER retreats to the floor for a breather.

Back in the ring, another exchange occurs and the Ring General chops Uso clean off the top, sending him to the floor and posing as if he’s emerged victorious while referee Shaun Bennett counts. Jey makes the count and GUNTHER takes his time, slowly walking and chopping him into the corner, each chop taking its toll… BUT USO EXPLODES WITH A SPEAR FOR TWO!

Right hands in the corner, compelling GUNTHER to cover up, but when the Ring General manages to get off a chop, it’s a genuinely meaty chop! Uso rises again and regains command of the situation, climbing back to the top, while GUNTHER ascends to meet him; a superplex sends Uso flying and the big shotgun dropkick follows! Tenryu Powerbomb… JEY USO WON’T STAY DOWN!

Another spear, Jey back up top, diving splash, deep hook of the leg… GUNTHER KICKS OUT! Outside and back in, the Ring General delivers a diving splash of his own, only for a count of two before locking in the Gojira Clutch! Jey endures, delivering hard ramming knees in the corner, and a chop sends Uso tumbling out onto the apron!

Back inside, back on his feet, Jey asks him for more; GUNTHER strikes with a chop and Uso laughs it off even as he collapses to his knees! Control of the wrist, trading elbows in the center of the ring, exchanging lariats, neither competitor gives an inch, the Ring General knocks him into the ropes with a boot and Jey retaliates with a lariat that takes down the champion!

Gojira Clutch countered into a German suplex, both competitors take a moment to recuperate, Uso charges into the dropkick but manages to escape the Tenryu Powerbomb and executes a release powerbomb of his own! A superkick puts the champion on his knees, followed by another superkick, a spear and Jey goes up top, successfully landing the diving splash!

Back up top, another splash connects, again back up top, landing a Shadows Over Hell splash to the back! Jey traps him in his own Gojira Clutch… IS IT OVER?!

Jey Uso triumphs by submission with the Gojira Clutch, becoming the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Post-match, “Big” Jim Uso enters the ring and the Usos engage in an extended celebration together, both in the ring and throughout the crowd.

Rick Rubin, Criss Angel, and a football personnel with a peculiar bowel obstruction (it notes he’s got a tight end?) are seen in the audience.

New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) vs. War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) (c) (WWE World Tag Team Championship)

Erik and Kingston begin, Woods attempts to assist his comrade and Erik simply hurls Kofi into him! Tag to Ivar, as Erik slams him off the apron and onto the New Day outside! Warbeard follows up with a freight train crossbody to both of them against the ring skirts; back inside, tossing slam / diving splash combination but Xavier kicks out!

New Day traps Erik on the apron, executing a Shadows Over Hell style senton, covering for two! Kingston delivers punishing punches to the Viking’s injured neck, stomps, Fameasser gets two, placing him on the apron for a knee, tagging Woods in. Double stomp from the top, cover for two, Xavier does a little strut, as Erik valiantly trades chops with him!

Escape, tag to Ivar, running hot, performing a big cartwheel lariat, underhooks, Kingston slips out and delivers a crescent kick! Double whip, Warbeard counters with a handspring double back elbow! Xavier interrupts him with a big lariat, tagging Kofi, who relentlessly attacks the big man, Kingston keeps him in position but Erik intervenes and knocks Woods out of midair!

Kofi sends him reeling with a tijeras and Trouble in Paradise, moving out to the apron and climbing up top, flipping over, rolling through, Ivar takes him out with a reverse roundhouse kick! A sizable moonsault from the big man and Xavier counters with Limit Breaker! Erik catches him with a knee to the spine, a running knee to the face, Ivar enters, popping Xavier up but Kofi makes the rescue!

Back and forth, Kofi trips Ivar.up, double stomp, Woods executes a lateral press while Kingston holds the mighty viking down

New Day triumphs by pinfall with a lateral press from Xavier Woods on Ivar assisted by Kofi Kingston to become your new WWE World Tag Team Champions.

We observe several celebrities in the front row.

Jade Cargill vs. Naomi

Cargill attacks fiercely with punches, hurling Naomi across the ring for shoulder blocks into the adjacent corner! Chokebomb lift, flinging her into the corner, Naomi escapes and ascends the top only for Jade to military press slam her back to the mat! On the floor, Naomi delivers elbows, her whip is reversed and she collides heavily into the barricade!

Jade tosses her back inside, she slips out to the next corner and rakes Cargill’s eyes! Roundhouse kick wobbles her, a hanging X-Factor sends Naomi crashing to the floor! Energized, Naomi takes a victory lap in the ring, counting along with referee Ryan Tran and dispatching Jade back to the floor with a dropkick, pursuing her this time.

Smashing Cargill’s face into the steel steps, diving blockbuster off the steps! Back in the ring, mounted punches raining down on Jade, Naomi lifts her up for a knee strike to the face! Dropping a leg across her throat, cover for a near fall! Jade regains composure, kicks into the corner, Stinger Splash, whip to the opposite side, Naomi lifts a boot up on the charge, diving blockbuster countered and Cargill executes a Jackhammer… SO CLOSE!

Another dive intercepted, this time into a fallaway slam and Jade kips up, bowing for the audience! Taking a giant step, headed to the top, Naomi lands a roundhouse kick, perching… AVALANCHE LA CASADORA BULLDOG! SPLIT-LEGGED MOONSAULT CAN’T KEEP JADE CARGILL DOWN! Naomi delivers kicks, Jade catches one, Naomi rolls through, executing a victory roll pin for two and transitioning into a Rings of Saturn neck crank in the center of the ring!

Cargill rises to her feet, Naomi slips out, Jade dodges a kick, electric chair… ELECTRIC CHAIR POWERBOMB! Double chickenwing…

Jade Cargill secures victory by pinfall with Jaded.

We witness yet another round of celebrity appearances in the crowd.
